Mito Sakura Festival

“Sakura” means “cherry blossom”.Sakura is the national flower of Japan. People can appreciate a variety of beautiful sakura in many places of Mito City, ex., Kairakuen Garden, Sakurayama, banks of the Lake Senba, Sakuragawa, etc. Every spring, the Mito Sakura Festival will be held in all famous cherry blossom spots in Mito City. During that period, tourists can view the snow cave lights (paper-mache small drop lights or portable candles) of Sakurayama•Sakuragawa. The sakura at the banks of the Lake Senba and the Moat will also be brightened, enabling local people to experience the ever-changing charm of sakura day and night.
