The Mito-Shinrin-Park

In 1968, on the Meiji period 100 year’s anniversary, the maintenance and improvement of the Mito-shinrin-park was originally started.It is 143-hectare spacious area and is located in the North-West side of Mito.There is beautiful well conserved nature which are the forest of pines, the holt and the spring water.It is so much enjoyable to walk through the park as you can see a beautiful scenery from time to time throughout the year.There are a couple of specific places where you are able to experience below noted events.At the dinosaur center where you can see the 14 of real size of dinosaur models.At the Forest Chevre House, goat’s milk cheese and other milk products are available.At the community center, making Soba course is also available.

It takes about 15min. from Mito IC / Jyoban expressway.
Either local or community buses are Not available in those area.
Open 6:00am – 7:00pm for April 1 – September 30.
8:30am – 5:15pm for October 1 – March 31. (opens at 8:30am – 5:15pm at Mori no Koryu Center)
Price Free of charge.
Closed The park opens throughout the year.
The centers close on every Mondays (If Monday falls on holiday, then following day will be closed, instead.) and December 29 – January 3.
