The Shrine Mito-Hachiman-Gu

The Shrine Mito-Hachiman-Gu is originally located in Mito-city.The shrine Mito-Hachiman-Gu which is dedicated to Emperor Oujin, Empress Jingu and Himeno-Ookami.The Honden keeps a gorgeous architectural style.It was designated as a nationally important cultural property which was built at the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Inside the shrine grounds, there is a unique ginkgo tree (Ohatsuki-Icho) which produce berries on a leaf. Besides, it is estimated to be over 700 years old.
